In response to growing concerns about the quality and oversight of recovery residences in Dickson County, a group of accredited recovery residence operators has formed the Dickson County Recovery Coalition.
The Coalition seeks to providing hope, healing, and high standards of care to individuals in recovery while addressing community concerns about unregulated facilities. They are also dedicated to improving community education and advocating for ethical and professional recovery house.
“Bad actors have taken advantage of the need for recovery housing in Dickson County, offering inadequate programs, substandard housing, and little to no oversight,” said Tyler Bell with A Vision for You. She added, “We share the community’s concerns about fly-by-night operations and have come together to provide education, answer questions, and make sure that recovery residences in our community operate at the highest standards.”“We do this work because we believe in the power of recovery to change lives,” said Rachael Jordan of Serendipity Sober Living. “But we can’t do it alone. Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation; it takes a community. By coming together, asking questions, and working toward real solutions, we can create a safer, stronger Dickson County for everyone.”
The Coalition will host its first community education event on Monday, April 7 at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 pm. Residents interested in learning more about recovery housing or with concerns about recovery residences are encouraged to attend. Registration for the Open House is available at www.dicksonrecovery.org.
